who is christian?

I am.

Full name Christian Chung, a proud 17-year-old.

As of this moment, I’m high school senior at the Raisbeck Aviation High School, aspiring to pursue a career within the grand engineering field— but we can go further back.

the beginning

Growing too old for Lego Duplo, my four-year-old self was finally gifted my first real Lego set. Model 7945: Fire Station.

It was something special. A special 599 pieces.

Four mini-figures, two vehicles, and an entire fire station, all containing a multitude of moving components. I had never had the opportunity to engineer a project at such a great scale (keep in mind, I’m four-years-old), so to me, this was a huge deal. This awakened a new goal within me— to proceed on with making things in greater quantities, and even greater qualities.

growing curiosity

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to extend my knowledge on engineering, and more importantly, technology. I’ve (more or less) transitioned from Legos, towards completely rendering and constructing original pieces of my own. Now with access to 3D printers, laser-cutters, water-jets, and all machinery found accessible to me in the school shop, I am pursuing that goal of mine, and engineering more, and better, than I ever have before.

Now, having worked four years for our school’s robotics team as a seasoned programmer and electrical sub-team member, I have also been able to work with the less technical side, and more theoretical sides of engineering technology. Learning to operate complex applications, and even program some of my own, I have developed a solid understanding of conventional programming, the functionality of many applications, and what may be more ideal to use for many theoretical situations.

Aside from academics, quite a bit of my time (maybe a little too much time!) is spent with gaming. Since my early Lego days, I have had experience with almost all popularized video games, consoles, and nearly all related equipment that might be used when gaming. PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo— you name it, I know it.

Streaming my gaming experiences through platforms such as Twitch, and producing videos of those moments for YouTube, I also have a great deal of experience with video production, streaming applications, and items that are perceived to fall under a more artistic light.

If you haven’t gotten the idea yet:

I love technology.

Since life as a toddler, building with Lego Fire Stations, I’ve grown in my knowledge of engineering and technology. I want to keep learning. Improving the audio quality of my streams with various audio mixers, programming videogames and websites as personal projects, CAD-ing and manufacturing household items to make my life just a little bit easier— learning essentially everything I can about the newest cameras, electronics, videogame developments, engineering applications and solutions, etc., is my new goal.

purpose

As I learn more about our future, this is where I’d like to share it. In following my blog posts, I’d hope you might get to learn something new from my shared knowledge, tips and tricks, or even just my opinions on any new developments or releases being discovered within the cloud.
